Refuse & Bulk Item Collection

Collection Information

Keep your refuse in garbage cans with lids. Bring your garbage cans back from the curb after pickup. Do not stack your trash on top of fire hydrants.

Residents may put up to one bulk item out twice a month, every other week beginning January 8, 2024.

We have joined with O'Hara Township and Aspinwall, along with assistance from the Pennsylvania Resources Council, to create a permanent glass recycling location for residents of the three communities to properly recycle glass. The glass recycling bin is located in the O'Hara Township Building Parking Lot at 325 Fox Chapel Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15238. The types of glass accepted: all colors of glass bottles, jars and jugs only; caps, lids and labels are acceptable but all containers must be empty. Please see here for more information about the new recycling location and here for more information about what can be recycled.

The Borough of Blawnox also has a hard to recycle collection. To have something picked up call Waste Management's Hazardous Waste at 1-800-449-7587.

The full list of rules and regulations for Municipal Waste Collection can be found in Ordinance No. 596.
